Enrique's restaurant branding was an original concept with the task of creating a full identity system and website design for a restaurant that would highlight the bbq style of the West Coast. I conducted some research to get a feel of the restaurant industry vibe of the West Coast. I was inspired by talking with a few friends and family that live in California to get a perspective of how they grill and the places they gravitate to for the most flavor. I also found a few blogs that featured bbq sauces and marinade recipes where the special ingredients included tequila and lime and habanero spices.
From there, I sketched a few concepts and brainstormed tag lines and created Enrique's West Coast Grill, branding the restaurant by highlighting the "Flamin' Lime." The brand is grounded it with a back story about an unsung matador who rose to fame fighting bulls so he could raise money to keep his family restaurant in business. This spicy barbecue has a lot of kick and is only for the "fearless and the brave!"
After establishing the brand elements, photography, logo and narrative, I designed a website prototype displaying the menu and custom ways users can view the menu’s content and photos.
